PIA is Studio SSAM’s collaborative laboratory for the exploration of products and systems that serve as a physical response to the issue of water security.   These projects are both experimental and practical offering real-time real-world ideas and solutions to problems at multiple scales. Here our focus is on expanding the field of enquiry, questioning the status quo, and working holistically in order to generate products that will affect positive, sustainable change.

Water security can be defined as the ability to access sufficient quantities of clean water to maintain adequate standards of food and goods production, proper sanitation, and sustainable health care.

ECOxH2O is Studio SSAM’s Education, Collaboration and Outreach (ECO) platform existing to promote and disseminate ideas relating to water security. As both educational mouthpiece and a resource for fostering the exchange of ideas ECOxH2O seeks to spread knowledge, and by extension awareness and action to serve the cause of global water security.
